New On The Catwalk

Alice Palmer

Alice Palmer’s mother taught her “the ropes” in knitting at the age of six. she briefly considered manifesting her constructive impulse through architecture, but settled on fashion design after making an incredibly flattering dress for herself out of a single ball of yarn.

"fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. fashion is in the sky, in the street. fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening."

inspired, she took a rigorous textiles training course at the glasgow school of art in 2000, and has steadily woven her way into fashion consciousness ever since.

"why does the eye see a thing more clearly in dreams than the imagination when awake? "

prior to launching her own label in 2008, she owned her own accessories company and managed a successful stall at london’s portobello market while studying for her masters at the royal college of art. the eponymous label has little fear of unraveling—alice’s head for business is just as keen as her fingers are with the knitting needle.

alice stays true to celtic traditions while at the same time finishing off each knit with a cutting edge. her drive keeps paying off with accolades and awards: she was recently selected by John galliano as one of three Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden finalists.
