Johanna Perret and Tutia Schaad were nominated for several design awards for their work after graduating from Berlin Kunsthochschule Weißensee in 2009. Their talents led them both to the haute couture capital of Paris, where they worked in elite apprenticeships at Givenchy Haute-Couture and Pret-a-Porter, Gaspard Yurkievich and Swash. Returning to Berlin from Paris to found their own label, which has drawn comparisons to JilSander, they participated at who’s next and won a stipend from the Mercedes-Benz fashion week Berlin and the city of Berlin.
" Perret Schaad contemplates modesty with ambition. They require the finest quality, finding it in innovation as well as in tradition."(Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin)
Their clothing sets a new paradigm for elegant simplicity. Though the clothing looks pure and eloquent, they have been made with the utmost care and technical complexity. The cuts having been questioned over and over again as though they were the riddle of the sphinx, producing in effect the most streamlined results.
